Upper West Side Pied-a-Terre
New York City, NY

Undertaken with the goal of creating a serene and inviting secondary residence, this home renovation celebrates its pre-war history with a distinctly masculine aesthetic and timelessly modern ambiance.

A particular challenge of the project was the client’s desire for a living room that could also function as a guest room, requiring a design solution that was both versatile and aesthetically pleasing.

The presence of cloth wires within the horsehair plaster walls offered a unique glimpse into the building’s storied history, further highlighting the importance of preserving its unique features.
Honoring the original architectural elements, such as the steel doors and hardware, the interior design was carefully curated to incorporate a harmonious blend of vintage, antique, and contemporary pieces subtly accented with cool blue tones. With every decision centered around the client’s needs and preferences, the final design offers a charming city getaway rich in distinctive character.
